What is Love?

To all bloggers
Love. What is Love? Good feelings? I need to remind myself a lot. In Gal. 5:22 Paul tells us the fruits of the spirit. The first of these is love. So it must be important. 1Cor 13:4 describes this love, "love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly.... 1Cor 13 also tells us "if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love it profits me nothing". Do you have this love? I need more. We need to ask God for help. We need to love each other with brotherly love. So does this love feel good? Sometimes, but sometimes it hurts. Also, Matt. 5:43 says "You have heard it said 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you..." Is loving your enemies easy? It is impossible without Jesus. Does loving your enemies feel good. I don't think so, but afterwards God blesses us. 1John 4:20 says "If someone says 'I love God' and hates his brother, he is a liar, for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? " The brothers in this verse also mean brothers and sisters in Christ. We must love one another. And sometimes it hurts! But it is also a blessing. It is easy to love when everyone is kind. When our flesh rises up is when it's hard, and when it counts. Love even when it's hard. When it hurts. Judas betrayed Jesus, but Jesus still loved and died for him. I betrayed Him but He still loves and died for me. You betrayed him but he still loves and died for you. If someone betrayed you, would you love and die for them? One of your closest friends? I pray and hope I would.

May God bless you
